Marketplace Fee Calculator

Enter the fee rates from your own seller account and see net payout, contribution margin after goods and fulfilment, and your break-even price.

Use your own current rates

This calculator holds no fee tables. Amazon, Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop revise commission, fulfilment and transaction charges regularly, and rates differ by category, country site and programme. Read the rates for your listing in your own seller centre and type them in. Select a marketplace below for its official documentation.

Calculate Net Payout, Margin and Break-Even Price

Enter what the buyer pays, the charges applied, and your own costs. Results update as you type.

Fields marked are required. Everything else is optional and refines the result.

The Four Calculations Behind the Results

Every figure the tool prints comes from one of these four expressions.

Gross order value

price × units + buyer shipping = gross

Everything the buyer pays on the order, before any deduction.

Net payout

gross − commission − transaction − ads − fixed − fulfilment

What the marketplace settles to your bank account.

Contribution profit

payout − COGS × units − your delivery − other

Margin is that profit divided by gross order value.

Break-even price

(fixed costs − retained shipping) ÷ (units × (1 − rate))

Rate is the combined percentage charge on the order.

Fixed costs and percentage costs behave differently

Percentage fees scale with price, so alone they never change the margin ratio. Fixed amounts — fulfilment, per-order charges, packaging — are what make cheap items unprofitable. That is why break-even price is a division, not a subtraction.

Where to Read Your Current Fee Rates

These are the official documentation entry points. Your seller account is the final word, because it reflects your category, country site and programme.

MarketplaceOfficial documentationWhat to look upWhere it varies
Amazon Sell with Amazon pricing, Australia, Singapore Referral fee by category, FBA fulfilment fee by size tier and weight, storage and subscription charges Country site, category, size tier, season
Shopee Seller Education Hub (Singapore), Philippines Commission, transaction fee, service fee, programme charges Country site, seller tier, campaign enrolment
Lazada Lazada University (Philippines), Malaysia Commission by category, payment fee, fulfilment and shipping structure Country site, category, fulfilment model
TikTok Shop Seller University (US), Singapore Commission rate, transaction fee, settlement timing, affiliate commission Country site, category, promotional periods

Locad restates none of their rates here. A number copied onto this page would be wrong at the next revision.

What Happens to the Same Order at Other Prices

Holding every cost and rate from the worked example constant, and moving only the item price, shows how fast a discount eats a margin.

A 20% discount is not a 20% margin cut

Dropping from ₱1,250 to ₱1,000 removes ₱250 of revenue but ₱222.50 of profit, because only percentage fees fall with the price. Fixed costs stay whole. Run a discount through the calculator before the campaign, not after.

Why This Tool Has No Built-In Fee Tables

Most fee calculators publish a rate table and refresh it when someone remembers. That design fails quietly, and the seller carries the cost.

Schedules move

Commission, fulfilment and storage rates move on each marketplace's own timetable. A stored table is right only until the next revision.

Rates are not one number

One marketplace charges different rates by category, country site, size tier, seller tier and programme. A single published figure fits almost nobody.

Your account is authoritative

Settlement reports show what you were actually charged, including negotiated terms no public page lists.

Two minutes of reading beats a stale table

Copy the rates for this category and country and keep them beside the calculator. Re-check each quarter, and whenever a change is announced, and the results stay correct indefinitely.

What to Check Before You Fill the Fields

Amazon and FBA

Confirm the referral fee for your exact category, then the FBA fulfilment fee for your size tier and shipping weight. Add storage separately, and check whether a per-item charge applies.

Shopee

Separate commission from the transaction fee and any service fee, and check which programmes you are enrolled in. Free-shipping and voucher programmes carry a contribution.

Lazada

Commission is set by category and the payment fee sits on top. Confirm the fulfilment model, because who ships the order changes which fees apply.

TikTok Shop

Check the category commission and the transaction fee, then add affiliate commission where creators drive the sale. Promotional periods can change the effective rate.

Each varies by country site. A rate confirmed for Singapore need not apply in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia or Australia.

Why a Marketplace Looks Profitable When It Is Not

Marketplace pricing models fail in a handful of predictable ways, each turning a real loss into an apparent profit.

Errors that overstate profit

  • Using the lowest referral rate across mixed categories
  • Treating advertising as marketing budget, not cost of sale
  • Treating profit per shipped order as profit per sold order
  • Leaving storage out because it arrives as a monthly invoice
  • Using supplier unit cost without inbound freight and duty
  • Forgetting that voucher and campaign discounts come out of your margin
  • Recording the settled amount without the conversion spread

Checks that keep the model honest

  • Reconcile a real settlement report against this tool each quarter
  • Model your worst-selling category, not your average
  • Re-run the numbers when any marketplace announces a fee change
  • Add an expected return rate into other costs per order
  • Keep break-even price visible in the pricing sheet, next to list price
  • Compare contribution profit per order, not fee percentages

Reconciliation matters most. If this tool and the settlement report disagree, the report is right and a fee is missing from your model.

Marketplace Fulfilment or Your Own 3PL

Once fees are modelled properly the fulfilment decision is arithmetic: run the same order both ways and compare contribution profit, not headline rates.

Marketplace fulfilment

  • One fee covers pick, pack and delivery on that marketplace
  • Stock sits in a pool dedicated to that channel
  • Storage and aged-stock surcharges are set by the marketplace
  • Listing visibility can be tied to programme enrolment

Third-party fulfilment

  • One stock pool serves every channel, including your own store
  • Pick, pack, storage and delivery are priced as separate lines
  • Inventory can move between markets rather than sit idle
  • Fees are contractual, changing on notice not by announcement

Enter each option's per-order cost in the fulfilment field, keep every other input identical, and compare contribution profit.

Marketplace Fee Calculator Questions

Start with the gross amount the buyer pays. Subtract the referral fee, the FBA fulfilment fee, any per-order fixed fee, transaction charges and advertising to get net payout. Then subtract cost of goods, allocated inbound freight and packaging to get contribution profit. This calculator runs that sequence on rates you supply.
Because fee schedules change and differ by category, country site and seller programme. A tool with rates baked in is accurate on the day it is published and quietly wrong afterwards. Reading your own rates from your seller centre takes two minutes and makes every number here defensible.
Amazon publishes selling fees on its pricing pages for each country site. Shopee documents commission, transaction and service fees in its Seller Education Hub. Lazada publishes guidance in Lazada University, and TikTok Shop in its Seller University. Your own account is the final word, because it reflects your category and programme.
Net payout is what the marketplace transfers after its fees. Profit is what remains after your own costs: goods, inbound freight, packaging, delivery you pay and returns. A listing can have a healthy payout and still lose money, so this tool reports both.
Break-even price is where contribution profit is exactly zero. Divide fixed cash costs per order by the revenue share you keep after percentage fees: break-even = (fixed costs per order minus the retained part of buyer-paid shipping) divided by (units × (1 − combined percentage rate)).
It depends on the marketplace, the programme and the country site. Some charge commission on the full order value including buyer-paid shipping, others on the item price alone. The calculator has a switch for this, because the difference is real money on low-price, high-shipping orders.
The common omissions are storage and aged-stock charges, return and refund handling, campaign or voucher co-funding, free-shipping contributions, currency-conversion spreads, advertising treated as marketing rather than cost of sale, and inbound freight. Any one can move a listing from profitable to loss-making over a month.
Yes. The maths is the same everywhere: a percentage commission, a transaction or payment charge, a per-order fixed amount, a fulfilment charge and optional advertising. Select the marketplace for a link to its official documentation, then enter the rates for your category and country site.
No. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted to Locad or any third party, nothing is stored once you close the tab, and there is no sign-in. You can safely enter real cost of goods and real margin targets.

Want the Fulfilment Line to Cost Less?

Locad runs pick, pack, storage and delivery from one stock pool, so the same inventory serves every marketplace and your own store.
